Homesickness: Beating the Blues

Symptoms

1. You find yourself complaining about everything, from how 'they' (the locals) don't know how to recycle, 'they' don't know how to write the number '9', or write 'r' and 'v' properly, 'they' don't know how to drive safely, 'they' are rude, 'they' are 'them' and not 'us'. The boss doesn't do his or her job right, 'they' don't care about foreigners, nor do they know how to work with foreigners.

2. Depression, brought about by complaining, not being able to communicate to students; 'friends'; people on the street; and people in shops; poor diet and exercise

3. Complaining all the time, including when you meet up with other foreigners. (Generally, we get a bad impression of other foreigners who are just annoyingly negative. I'm saying this, as most homesick folks can't see this, nor realise this, themselves.)
